Dear Parents/Guardians, Students, Faculty and Staff,
Welcome to Our Lady of Grace International School (OLGIS) at the service of the community of the greater Monrovia area in Liberia.
We are providing you with this Handbook at the beginning of the school year because we believe its contents are very important in setting the tone for the total education of our students.
Our Mission Statement and Philosophy clearly spell out the commitment of Our Lady of Grace International School as an educational institution to educating the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. Our education emphasizes the capacity of our students to work together as a community, to grow in friendship, and to find lasting happiness and comfort with God.
In order to achieve our goals, we need the cooperation of all. Fair and consistent discipline allows us to focus on our core task of education. Each student and at least one parent or guardian must complete the following compliance agreement to acknowledge that the policies and rules contained in this Handbook have been read and fully understood. In doing so, you are bound by the policies outlined in this Handbook and you will enjoy the privileges and protections contained herein.
The attached Agreement Form (on page 39) must be signed by the student and at least one parent or guardian upon (re-)enrolment and returned to the Administrator’s Office no later than the first day of the school year. Please read this Handbook carefully. Insofar as these guidelines are properly followed and consistently enforced, our students will better achieve the purpose for which they have chosen to attend OLGIS.
I hope that you will share in my own great enthusiasm, optimism, and confidence as we begin the new academic year.
