Learning Mode - Academic Year 2020 - 2021

28 AUG 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this communication/letter to you regarding the learning mode for the upcoming academic year 2020-2021.

Along with the teachers and staff, we will work hard despite the uncertain situation to continue the legacy of success established by OLGIS by building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners.

In whatever way the pandemic situation, all of us at OLGIS are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever. We will teach physical or E-learning and will focus on providing academic experiences for our students and consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase all of the student’s achievement. This attitude enables us as OLGIS families to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.

Note the following:

On-campus from G6 to G12: The Ministry of education has allowed schools to open in person from G6 to 12. OLGIS re-opens fully while respecting social distance with strict safety protocol measures.

E-learning: Virtual classes from KG1 to G5, will be face to face with their teachers (until the Ministry of education allows the schools to open in person for these classes).

We have adopted “Online Lessons Using Microsoft Teams”, Google classroom, Cisco, and Remote Learning for the upcoming school year.” A training workshop will be held for staff and parents.

Classes of the academic year 2020-2021 begin on:

1- In-person:

- September 8th, 2020, from G 9 to 12

- September 10th, 2020, from G 6 to 8

2- Fusion learning (till otherwise notified):

- September 15th, 2020: G 4 & 5

- September 17th, 2020: G1, G2 & G3

- September 21st, 2020: KG1, KG2 & KG3

A combination of online teaching and collection of physical assignments and homework by parents and students. The fusion lessons will continue until in-person classes resume.

Please note that communication will be sent soon to clarify the procedure for the virtual classes (Fusion Learning).

Please feel free to call or email us to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.

We look forward to working together as a team to help each student at OLGIS meet his/her goals and have a successful school year.

N.B. The protocol safety measures will be communicated shortly.

Your cooperation is a must.
